Kenneth Lawrence Minnix, age 76, of Sandlick Road, Bluefield, WV died on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital.Born on February 16, 1941 in Freeman, WV, he was a son of the late Wallace and Mary White Minnix. He worked for Steiners Cabinet Maker for 6 years, Consolidation Coal Company for 16 years and was self-employed in coal mining for 11 years. Kenneth had a dream one night and when he got up the next morning he began building his invention, the pond cleaning machine. His working career ended in 1992.Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and now he is Heaven bound. Kenneth fought black lung for many years. In his early years, he loved his motorcycles, fishing and camping. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time at his summer home on the Greenbrier River. He loved his family with everything in him. He enjoyed family and friends visiting and chatting. His joy was watching his great-granddaughter, Bryleigh, playing, sharing ice cream and listening to her read to him. He called her “his baby”. His life consisted of providing for his wife and children. He had lived in the Bluefield area his entire life and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Kenneth had a special river buddy, Jimmy Kish. Steve Poore officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday morning from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
