Junior Key

Junior “June” Key, 88, of Crane Creek Road, Rock, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on June 2, 1931 in Ashland, WV, he was a son of the late James Alfred and Dina Jane Cecil Key. He had been a lifelong resident of the McComas area and was a retired coal miner for 40 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes, Willie “Buttons”, Elwood, Shelby “Ducky”, and Harold “Blue Eyes”.

Survivors include a special niece, Sheila Key; special nephew, Justin Key; several other nieces and nephews; a close family friend and caregiver, Cathy Sparks; and siblings, Curtis, Larry, Linda, Wanda, Ronald, Dexter, Jerry.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Robert Huddler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Johnny Tooley, Thomas Gilbert, Justin Key, Roy Sparks, George Key, and Kenny Hazelwood will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
