June Turner

June Turner, 95, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on August 5, 2022.

Born on January 26, 1927 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late McKinley and Bana Farmer Akers. She had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a member of the First Christian Church. She had 21 years of service from the City of Bluefield and retired as City Clerk.She was a member and former president of the Bluefield Quota Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Charles L Turner, a son, Charles Matthew “Matt” Turner; and son in law William (Russ) Taylor and brother, Jack Akers.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Taylor of Bluefield, WV, and a son, Joe (Debbie) Turner of Princeton, WV; 9 grandchildren, 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice, Shelby Nelson, Regina Mooney, and Felecia Hall for the care they provided to June and her family.

Memorial services will conducted on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Monte Vista Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Bluefield with Craig Hammond officiating.
