Judy Patrick

Judy Carol Brown Patrick, 71, of Skyline Drive, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Mercer Nursing and Rehab Center in Bluefield with family by her side. She had resided there for three years and was affectionately known by friends and family as “Cookie”.

She was born on October 25, 1948 and was the oldest child of the late Clarence Gaither Brown and Betty Jane Brown. She grew up in Maybeury and attended Northfork High School in 1966. She was a rock of her family. She was also a college of Valley College in Princeton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was employed by Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Woodlawn Memorial Park, and Hensley Garten and Hayes Law Firm. She served 15 years as President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3112 Bramwell; Post 3856 Bluefield, WV.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Orlick; a brother, James Roger Brown.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Jane Brown of Anderson, SC; brother, William “Bill” (Carol) Brown of Maybeury, WV; husband, Eugene Patrick of the home; son, Christopher E. Patrick and companion Dawn Hatfield and her son Jason of Bluefield, VA; daughter, Sherri M. Kelly of Bluefield; grandson, Conner Patrick Kelly of Bluefield, VA; her fur baby, Ivy;

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Curtis Honaker officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The Patrick family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Mercer Nursing and Rehab Center. A special thank you to all of Judy’s friends for sharing their love and friendship.
