Juanita Delores Zachwieja

Juanita Delores Zachwieja, 85, of Bluefield, WV, formerly of Maybeury, WV and the Havens, passed away on the morning of February 6, 2021 at the home of her son, John Jr. and wife Patty in Bluefield, WV.  She was the daughter of the late Mae and Ira Summers.  Juanita was born September 20, 1935 in Charleston, WV.  In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Zachwieja.  She is survived by her sister, Barbara Klemish of Port Jeff Station, NY.

Juanita was retired from the USPS and worked at Powhatan, Maybeury, and Glen Lyn Offices.  She enjoyed traveling the country with her many friends and fellow postmasters with NAPUS, National Association of Postmasters of the U.S., on their annual conventions.

Juanita was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her son, John F. Zachwieja and wife Patty of Bluefield, WV and Hatteras, NC; her daughter, JoAnn Mitchem and husband Rodney of Bluefield, WV; and her son Michael Zachwieja and wife Carolyn of Bassett, VA; her grandchildren are Aneisha Z. Mahalick (Dave), Laura Z. Ward (Steve), Shanna Z. Klute (Ron), John-David Zachwieja (Haley), Vincent Zachwieja (Becky), Jeremy Mitchem (Katie), Alison M. Satterlee (Eric), and Daniel Zachwieja (Mandy); and 15 great-grandchildren are left to cherish her memory.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, a private service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Sebastian officiating.  A celebration of life will be held later when it is safe to gather with all her family and friends.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV is assisting the family with arrangements.
