Joycie Bell Sargent

Joycie Bell Sargent, 84, of Anawalt, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

Born on May 19, 1934 in Abbs Valley, VA, she the oldest of 13 children. She was a daughter of the late Garnie and Barbara Casey Miller of Skygusty. Joyce was a long time member of the Church of God at Conklintown. She loved Jesus and reading the Bible. Joyce also enjoyed BINGO. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved being around people… the more the better. She was also a Counsel member of the Town of Anawalt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Sargent; two sons, Harry Hatfield, and Eddy Spencer; a sister, Vertie Mae Miller; two brothers, Tommy Miller and Joe Miller; two granddaughters, Misty McGrady and Amanda Finley; a son in law, Thomas (Sonny) Wooldridge.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will follow at the Presley Cemetery in Skygusty where Greg Price, Dallas Finley, Joey Hunt, Thomas Wooldridge, Jr., Jesse Lee McGrady, Tommy Moore, and Roy Hatfield will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
