Joyce Gail Poe Lester

Joyce Gail Poe Lester peacefully went to be with Jesus on May 08, 2019 surrounded by her family at home. Joyce fought Pulmonary Fibrosis for nearly six years and finally won her battle at age 77. Joyce was born on May 21, 1942 in Bluewell, WV; she had been a resident of Sandlick and the bride of Wayne Lester for 60 years.

Joyce was a member of Roger Street Community Church. She had a love for God, farming, canning and camping with all of their horse buddies.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and father Corrine and Howard Wilson Poe of Bluewell and Thelma Surface that was like a sister.

Left to cherish her precious sweet memory are her husband and the love of her life, Wayne Lester of Bluefield, WV; her son Robert Lester and wife Lisa of Bluefield, WV; daughter Cindy Cox and husband Tim of Bluefield, WV; her grandchildren that she adored, Mike Terolo and wife Jessica, Justin Lester and wife Rachel, Ashton White and husband Josh, Zach Cox and fiancé Samantha Johnson. Great Grandchildren Ava Treolo and Autumn Treolo and Fur baby girl Muffin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 5:30pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Gene Pennington and Rev. Steve Pendleton officiating the service. Burial will follow at Lester Family Cemetery in Sandlick, WV on the family farm that she loved dearly where her grandsons Mike Treolo, Justin Lester, Zach Cox, Josh White along with her nephew Troy Lester, cousin Tim Saddler and dear friend Carl Horton serving as pallbearers.

The Lester family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 5:30pm at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV.
