Joyce Brown

Joyce C. Brown, 70, of Bluefield, VA, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at her home. Born August 15, 1950 at Peel Chestnut Mountain, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Effie Glass. She was retired from Bluefield State College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years on March 2, 2021, her beloved youngest daughter Barbara, brothers James and Jerry Glass, and sisters Jean Cranfill and Judy Wright.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Steven Brown, who had devoted his time to her happiness in recent weeks, son Clyde Robert Brown and wife Sheila of Maybeury, WV, a daughter Mary Beth McGlothlin and husband Keith of Bluefield, VA, and her grandson Conner McGlothlin whom she adored, and sisters Janet Bowlick of Bluefield, VA and Lisa Vanhooser of Cambin on Gauley, WV. She is also survived by several sisters-in-law who treated her like sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. N. R. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Friday, from 9:30-10:30 AM, at the funeral home.
