Joy Amanda Brooks

Joy Amanda (Chapman) Brooks, 37, a loving, devoted wife and mother, of 207 Dixie Dr., Bluefield, WV, earned her angel wings on Saturday, April 21^st, 2018.  Born April 5^th, 1981, in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Michael Chapman and Teresa Chapman of Anawalt, WV. 

Amanda graduated from Mount View High School in 1999.  She dedicated her life to raising her children and supporting her husband and family.  Amanda was extremely caring, always greeting you with her quick wit, a kind word, and her beautiful smile. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kristopher Michael Chapman, paternal grandparents, Kelly and Flossie Chapman, maternal grandparents, Loxie and Orvel Blevins, father-in-law, Jerry Brooks, Sr.,  and a nephew, Jayden Valach.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 14 years, Jerry Brooks, Jr., daughter, Sophia, and son, Cooper, all of the home; mother, Teresa  and step-father J.J. Hunley, of Anawalt, WV; two sisters, Rebecca and Lory Beth Chapman, of Brushfork, WV; a special niece, Jada Rotenberry, of Anawalt, WV ; her mother-in-law, Debbie Brooks, of Anawalt, WV; one brother-in-law, Jody (Sherry) Brooks of Bluefield, WV; sister-in-law,  Susan (Jamie) Bailey, of Anawalt, WV;  sister-in-law, Kristi (Joe) Valach, of Nemours, WV and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26^th, 2018 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with the Rev. Jim Blevins and Rev. Donnie Farmer officiating.  A private memorial service will be held on a later date at the Perdue Family Cemetery on Peeled Chestnut Mountain.

Her life will be celebrated and remembered at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 25^th, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm.
