Joshua Derek Powell 38 of Bluefield,Virginia passed away March 8 2023 at  12pm at Carilion Clinic New River Valley in Radford, Virginia with his mother and children at his side. Joshua was born in Bluefield,WV to Lois and Evan Powell.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father Evan Lawrence Powell. Grandparents Marie and Darrell Powell, Myrtle Hines Sizemore and Ike Sizemore and the late Mack Hines and infant sister Tara King and niece Annastasia Beavers.

Joshua is survived by his children Sophie Powell,Hayden Powell, and mother Lois Jessee of the home. Siblings Crystal and Hearld Wheeler of Bluefield, Virginia, Danica and Kenny Riley of  Bluefield, WV, Erica and Crystal King of Lubbock, Texas, Aaron and Chastity Powell of Walland Tennessee. Nieces and Nephews Matthew Beavers,Jenna Beavers,Jalen Wheeler,Kelsey Wheeler,Audrey Powell, Luke Powell.

Josh enjoyed spending time with his 2 kids Hayden and Sophie Powell, fishing and watching tik Tok and spending time with his  brother in law Hearld and time with the rest of his family.

Josh will be greatly missed by his children Sophie and Hayden as well as the rest of his family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.
