Joseph Aaron "Josh" Stultz

August 20, 1977 — April 10, 2024

Joseph (Josh) Aaron Stultz, age 46, of Bluefield, WV went to be with the Lord in his heavenly home on April 10, 2024. He fought a long hard battle against a very unfair disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Over the last 4 years, the disease has taken away his abilities and independence for fun living the way he would have liked. However, he maintained his witty sense of humor until the very end.

Josh was born in Bluefield, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, on August 20, 1977. He was born to Robert Clarke Stultz of Rocky Gap, VA, and Brenda Williams Stultz of Bluefield, WV. Immediate family are all surviving. However, he has lost several loved ones including grandparents, aunts (Aunt Dane), and uncles (Uncle Kenny) along the way. He is survived by, his wife of 14 years Monica Leigh Baldwin Stultz of Bluefield, WV, and his amazing daughter Alexis Erin Stultz, 21 y/o, currently of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by his parents, as mentioned above, as well as his loving stepmother Darlene Stultz of Rocky Gap, VA. Other immediate family left to cherish his memory include his older brother Chad Stultz and niece, Madison Stultz, both of Rocky Gap, VA. He leaves in-laws, whom he always considered more than in-laws and always found entertaining and loved to joke with, Sharon L Baldwin and Tony Wagner of Bluefield, WV. Also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved as well. There are many special friends, too many to name, but a few to include are his faithful dog Hank, little friend Piper Gregory, and caring friend Alexis Lowe. His former in-laws and family as well, including Tanya Dillion-Bralley and Tony and Kathy Dillion of Myrtle Beach, SC, and more.

Josh graduated from Bluefield High School in 1995 and attended a few years of college at Bluefield State College. Ultimately, he decided to make his living in the much-needed trades of our area. He worked as an E Logger the longest, a directional driller for multiple companies, as well as a car mechanic, and even a telemarketer when he was young. Those who knew him, know he was always the life of the party, happy-go-lucky, kidding and joking, making everyone laugh and smile. He was a generous friend, always helping his buddies with their race cars, house projects, or whatever (even if he got in trouble with his wife for doing so). His passion though has always been for drag racing, his beautiful self-designed, built and painted drag truck, and speed. He also enjoyed pig roasts and family time at the creek, as well as helping his brother on the farm. He took pride in being called "Woompass" and continuing the joking tradition with good friends for these past many years. Josh, would have helped anyone in need at any time. Once he gave a stranger $20 to get home to a dying family member only to later meet again at the Mountaineer Bowling Alley. And if you knew him well, you would know he was incredibly smart and considered himself a master at jeopardy, knowing a little bit about a lot. He was also great, especially recently, at keeping his family straight and in line when it came to day-to-day occurrences, events, and needs. But mostly, he took pride in being a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and proud father.

Josh will be missed by many. He, however, wanted his life to be celebrated in fun and laughter. Therefore, there will be an informal memorial service at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2 pm to celebrate his life. Friends may call an hour prior, from 1:00-2:00. Friends and family are asked to share good times, stories, and memories during the service and plan to reminisce in those moments, in good humor, as he would have wanted us to do.
