Joseph Short

Joseph Lee “Joe Joe” Short, 31, of Rock Road, Rock, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 25, 1987 in Princeton he was a son of Shirley Harmon Bailey of Lorton Lick Road, Bluefield and the late Steve Otis Short. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County and enjoyed fishing. He had a big heart and loved everyone. He was a friend to everyone.

Wife: Sarah Jenkins of Rock

Mother: Shirley Harmon Bailey and companion Jerry Perkins of Montcalm

2 stepsons: Patrick and Jordan Jenkins of the home

Stepdaughter: Jasmine Jenkins of the home

Brother: Steven (Celina) Short of Matoaka

Sisters: Jessica (James) Hedges of Bluefield
Monica (Dustin) McKinney of Lashmeet

Maternal Grandmother: Jeanie Harmon of Oakvale

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Jerry Heaton officiating.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 PM at the funeral home.
