Johnnie Franklin (Cotton) Clower, Sr., 86, of Bluewell, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home.He was born on March 6, 1931 in Crystal and was a son of the late Lon and Bessie Perkins Clower. He served in the US National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a carpenter, in which he built churches, homes, and various other buildings for people as well as roofing and remodeling. He drove for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and retired after 34 years of service from Mercer County Schools as a bus operator. His hobbies include bowling, NASCAR, and playing Solitaire. He loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bluewell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ella Louise Tiller Clower; a son, Lewis Leondus Clower; a daughter, Beryl Ann Pickett; 4 brothers, Dave, JR, Bernard, and Jimmy Clower; and two sisters, Gladys Taylor and Notrie Levi.Left to cherish his memory are his:Wife: Maxine Morrison Clower of the homeSons: Johnnie F. Jim Milam and Rev. R. Norman Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where grandsons, Matt White, Aaron Milam, Brian Clower, Kevin Clower, Chris Clower, Garret Clower, Corey Mitchem, and Logan Clower will serve as pallbearers.Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com.
