John L. Thomas

John L. Thomas, 93, of Green Valley, Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2018.

Born on June 18, 1925 in Gary, he was the son of the late John R. and Gladys Compton Thomas. He was a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church and was retired from Commercial Bank where he worked for 31 years. He served his country in the US Army during World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise L. Thomas.

Daughter: Ann (John) Johnson of Bristol, VA

Sisters: Nona (Bob) Nassif of Alphretta, GA
Martha Green of Cocoa, FL
Barbara (Buddy) Epperson of Senecaville, OH
Shirley (Bill) Epperson of Newark, OH

Several nieces and nephews

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice for their loving care and kindness.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. C.T. Lilly officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield.

Friends may call on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
