John Robert Rash

John Robert Rash, 72, of Bluefield, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia surrounded by his precious family.
John was born on March 17, 1947 in Litwar, West Virginia he was the son of the late Conley and Agnes Sisk Rash. John was a 1965 graduate of Ieager High School. John proudly served his country in
D Company 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from April 1970 until March 1971. John was an active member of VFW Post 9696, Bluefield, Virginia; American Legion Vietnam Veterans and loved all of his veteran friends. John retired from US Steel in Pineville, West Virginia in 2007 and was a member of the UMWA #1713.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Ruby Carmen Rash and one sister Ruby Fanning.
John is survived by his loving wife Pamela “Pam” Davis Rash of Bluefield, West Virginia; One daughter Melanie McMillen and husband Randy of Morgantown, West Virginia; Bonus daughter Emily Jenks and husband Bobby of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; Grandchildren Mac McMillen of Morgantown, West Virginia, Meredith and David Jenks of Cross Lanes, West Virginia. Brothers Pete Rash of Litwar, West Virginia, Donnie Rash and wife Brenda of Morgantown, West Virginia. Sister Marjorie McNew and husband Glen of Morgantown, West Virginia. Fur-Baby, Baby Girl and John is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John loved his family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. Jim Coe officiating the service. Entombment will follow at the Waterfall Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family will be serving as pallbearers. VFW Post 9696 and America Legion Post #14 will be conducting Military Graveside Rites.
The Rash family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
