John Anderson Presley, 89, Ball Field Road Anawalt, West Virginia passed away August 07, 2017 in McDowell Continuous Care in Gary, West Virginia. John was born December 25, 1927 in Jenkinjones, West Virginia to the late Alex Presley and Clida Mae Dillon Presley. He had been a lifelong resident of Anawalt, West Virginia. He was an avid gun collector and lover of Bluegrass music. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and was retired coal miner and former police officer.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Frances P. Dinkins Presley and one daughter, Debbie Castle, Step mother Pansy Bowman and one grandson Marty Parrish, two brothers Don Presley, Bennie Presley and one sister Betty Blizzard. He is survived by his two daughters Ellen Parish of Anawalt, West Virginia and Mila Presley of Anawalt, West Virginia. Special son in law James “Sonny” Castle and wife Linda, Special Friend Thurman Chapman. Grandchildren Misti Winebarger and husband Jeff of Locust Grove, Georgia, Jim Castle and companion Dianne of Anawalt, West Virginia and John Castle of Anawalt, West Virginia. Four Great grandchildren Ashlee, Lindsey, Taylor and Ian. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Martin West officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV with friends and family serving as pallbearers. The Presley family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m.
