John "JP" Paul Ford

John Paul “JP” Ford, Sr., 41, of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
JP was born on November 11, 1976, in McDowell County, West Virginia, the youngest child of the late William McDowell Ford, Sr. and Damita Jo Hairston Ford. JP had been a resident of Bluefield for the past 17 years. He was formerly of Keystone, West Virginia, where he spent most of his childhood years before relocating to Huntington and then to Bluefield. JP worked as a long haul truck driver for Warren Trucking and was a former member of Gospel Tabernacle UHC in Keystone, West Virginia, and currently attended Shiloh a Place of Worship in Princeton, West Virginia, when his health permitted.
In addition to his parents JP was preceded in death by his son John Paul Ford, Jr.; maternal grandparents George and Claudia Hairston and paternal grandmother Ann M. Hickman.
Left to cherish JP’s memory is his wife Shauntae Watterson Ford of the home; son Kiwanis Watterson and daughter Ye’Shariya Watterson both of the home; three sisters, Stacey Thomas and husband Juan of Brushfork, West Virginia, Shanee Ivy and husband Jermaine of Axton, Virginia, and Kenya Ford of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers William M. Ford, Jr., and wife Pam of Martinsville, Virginia, Cameron D. Ford of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Devontae Ford of North Carolina. Special uncle, George “Boy Baby” Hairston, whom he affectionately called Unc, of Martinsville, Virginia; close special friends Lamont Greene, Michael Lewis and Eric Easley. JP is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of JP’s life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bluefield, West Virginia, with Bishop Anthony Tucker and Bishop Charles Stores officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, West Virginia, where friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
The Ford family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
