Joey Delbert Gills

Joey Delbert Gills, 75, of Rocky Gap, Virginia and formerly of Bluefield, WV passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

Born on January 23, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia he was the son of the late Steward and Callie Scott Gills. Joey was a retired machinist for Pike and served with the National Guard. He was a resident of Rocky Gap for 21 years and a member of Day Fork Baptist Church as well as the Rocky Gap/Bland Mason Lodge.

Those left to cherish Joey’s memories are his wife Rita Denniston Gills of the home; son, Stephen Joe Gills and wife Kimberly of Rocky Gap, VA; daughters, Catherine Middleton and husband Orville of Middletown, Ohio, and Krishelle Martin and husband Rick of Pottsville, AR; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Sires Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Brown and Rev. David Frankenfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Kinder-Gills Family Cemetery in Rocky Gap, VA. The Gills family will receive friends and relatives from 12:30 until the time of service on Thursday.
