Joe Richard Mills, Sr.

Joe Richard Mills, Sr., 87, of Bluestone Avenue, Bramwell, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home.

Born on March 9, 1933 in McComas, he was a son of the late Walter Mills, Sr. and Grace Tabor Mills. He was a retired coal miner and was a Korean war veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Medlin and Ruth Rutherford; and a brother, Walter Mills, Jr.

Survivors include her wife, Georgia Samantha Arnold Mills of the home; son, Roger (Linda) Mills; daughter, Tina (Michael) Terry; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a brother, Abraham Mills of Mississippi; and sisters Betty (Jimmy) Cristos of NJ and Linda (John) Sweigert of PA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Delmer Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with military honors being performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home.
