Joe Ellis Gullion

Joe Ellis Gullion, 53, formerly of Abbs Valley, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. 

He made his election sure in 2005, being baptized and attending the local Baptist Church in Castlewood, VA. He resided at Grayson Manor in Castlewood, VA for the past 21 years. Joe graduated from Pocahontas High School Class of 1990. He enjoyed his hobbies of drawing, fishing, watching TV, painting, and helping anyone ever in need. 

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Blaine Gullion, his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Rose Gullion, and maternal grandparents, James and Virginia Pauley. 

Left to cherish Joe's memory are his mother, Barbara Pauley Gullion; sister, Rose Gullion Sweeny (Josh), niece, Olivia Sweeny, whom he loved dearly; uncle Eddie Pauley (Connie); special friends around Castlewood, VA, Brian and David; several cousins and friends; special friend Serena Street; home owners, Maddie Gordon and husband James; and friends and staff at Grayson Manor who became his family too. 

Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
