Joe Constantino

Joe Constantino, age 90, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Northfork, passed away on December 24, 2018. He was born in Arlington, WV on April 2, 1928 and was the son of the late Anna Maria and Louis Constantino.

Joe was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He served his country as an Army Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was active in the community, serving on the original Tri-District Health Clinic Board in Algoma as well as the McDowell County Board of Health. He was the recording secretary for the Town of Northfork for 20 years and was President of the Keystone Rotary. He worked as a store manager for Budnicks Hardware and Heilig-Meyers for over 50 years on the same corner in Keystone. He loved sports and was selected First Team “All McDowell County” in 1944 and 1945 while playing for the Northfork Big Orange football team.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Sue Ferrell, and his sister Angelina “Angel” Constantino. He was preceded in death by his siblings Mattie Sergie Constantino Cline, Frank Constantino, Nick Constantino, Sam Constantino, Tony Constantino, Mary Constantino, Mary Antoinette Constantino, Mary Rose Constantino, and Christmas Constantino.

Also surviving are Joe and Sue’s children: Roxanna (Noah) Van Blaricom, Susan (Paul) Rice, Becky (Carman) Liuzzo, Sam (Kathy) Constantino, Joe (Rhonda) Constantino and Melissa (late Jon) Parsons. As well as his grandchildren Crystal, Erin, Morgan (Josh), Tyler, Emily, CJ, Stacy, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Jenna, and Julia.

The family will receive friends at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Powhatan, WV from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with Father Luis Anthony Lascon officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
