Reverend Jimmy Vincent Neve  fondly known as "Jim" was born on August 9, 1935 in Bartley, WV to his late parents Vincenzo Nevi and Clementina Dominici. He peacefully completed his earthly journey July 14, 2024, in Cibolo, TX, with family by his side.

He served his country from 1956 - 1958 as a B52 Stratofortress jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force while stationed at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, ME.

He graduated from Big Creek High School in War, WV in 1953 which was the first High School in McDowell County, Southern West Virginia and was the second High school in the State of West Virginia to play Football under the lights. He was known not only for his amazing personality, but for his exceptional Football athleticism that landed Big Creek "Owls" as the West Virginia State Football Team finalist in 1952. 

Beyond his service, Jim was man of many passions who found solace in being outdoors - whether it was just enjoying his pipe, riding on his lawnmower or piddling on various wood working projects around the house. He loved going to a local diner for "fish night" and brought joy to many as he extended warmth to all who crossed his path. He was a Man who cherished every moment and dearly loved everyone in his family.

Jim's was a devoted Servant of God who Pastored his own Church in Raysal, WV during the late 1980's and 1990's. His powerful messages earned him the reputation of a "foot stomping, spit flying, power packing preacher" who touched countless lives and guided them towards the path of salvation. In addition to his sacred service, Jim cherished spending time at Gary Pentecostal Holiness Church under the guidance of Reverend Virgil “Pete” Green before relocating to Cibolo, Texas in 2019 to live with his youngest son. 

He is survived by his loving sons Jimmy Vincent Neve Jr of Kernersville, NC and Joey Vincenzo Neve and spouse Kearose Neve of Cibolo, TX; Grandsons Jacob Andrew Neve and spouse Katz of Highpoint, NC,  Joey Vincenzo Neve Jr of Boydton, VA, and Tristen Matthew Neve of Cibolo, TX; Granddaughter’s Jordan Leigh Neve of Kernersville, NC and Ashley Nicole Neve of Burlington, NC; Sister Veronica Luigia Glassco of Olgesby, Tx; Sisters-in-law Josephine and Robert Day of Skygusty WV and Helen and Larry Talley of Richmond VA. He also leaves behind an extended family consisting of cousins, nephews, nieces, and great-grand children.

Jim is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Katy Minnitti after companionship that lasted 49 years. He also joins their infant son and departed family members including his Mother-In-Law Annie Constanzo and Father-In-Laws Joseph Costanzo & Leonardo Minnitti; Sister-in-law Corrine Sanchez along with her spouse Daniel Sanchez; Sister Felecia Cantrell alongside her spouse Wilson Cantrell; Brothers Victor Nevi and spouse Glenneth, Anthony Nevi with spouse Maxine and Jerry Neve together with Lucille.  

Reverend Jimmy Vincent Neve's legacy will forever be cherished not just by he knew intimately but by all whose lives he touched through compassion and faith. He will be dearly missed but always remembered for the love he shared and the light brought into this world.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct graveside rites. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Neve family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (link below).
