Jerry Richard Proffitt

Martinsville,VA---- Jerry Richard Proffitt 68 of Ridgeway, VA, got called home January 9th 2023 at his home.

 

Born January 12 1954 in Bluefield WV he was the son of Lillian Shrader and John Proffitt of Bluewell, WV.

 

Mr.Proffitt had been a resident of Martinsville Va for 22 years he was a Vietnam Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. 

 

He was preceded in death by his late wife Tammie Lee Proffitt who passed in 2001 and his special companion Jean Hoops and his Granddaughter Jeweleeonna Waldrop who passed in 2010 .

 

Survivors in addition to his passing are his  Son Tony James Proffitt (JT) of Florida and his daughters Sarah Ann Proffitt and Sabrina Dianne Proffitt and Son -In Law Ryan Waldrop all of North Carolina. Grandchildren are as follows Destiny Proffitt and Brooklyn Proffitt both of South Carolina, Alicaya Barreto, Daevon Proffitt, Jamarion Proffitt , Shymeek Verdell , Andrew Waldrop , Kaileona Waldrop all of North Carolina; Great Granddaughter Auor’a Verdell of NC; Sisters ,Brenda Peebles of Flordia, Linda Sadder, the late Connie Proffitt , Sally Dempsey all of WV; Brothers, Doug Proffitt of Iowa, the late Troy Proffitt, Bobby Proffitt all of West Virginia.

 

Friends may call on Thursday January 19, 2023 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. He will be cremated and will be placed in the Proffitt Family Cemetery with his late wife Tammie Proffit.
