Jerry Wayne Dickerson

Jerry Wayne Dickerson Jr, 40, of Princeton WV, passed away on February 2nd, 2022 in Roanoke Virginia. 

Jerry was born on March 5, 1981 in Forsyth County, NC to Jerry Dickerson Sr. and Kathy Hendrix. He attended Bramwell Elementary and Montcalm High School. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jerry Wayne Dickerson Sr. and his mother Kathy Sue Hendrix. 

Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was disabled. He loved his country and loved serving.  

Jerry is survived by his four children, Jerry W Dickerson III and his wife Michelle of Bramwell, Gabriella Sue Dickerson of Montcalm, Mia Danielle Dickerson also of Montcalm and John Dale Dickerson of Princeton. He is also survived by his "sissy" Angela Cottingham and her husband Todd of Princeton, step-brothers Kevin Bunch and wife Pamela, Michael Bunch and Darnell Thompson as well as a step sister Amy Shrewsbury and Husband Josh. His nephews Benjamin Cottingham and Logan Johnson and nieces Mary Johnson and Jocelyn Bunch also survived him. 

As a brother, Jerry was a guardian, a guiding light in the darkness especially to his sister, Angela. He was her hero. As a father, he was the best dad circumstances allowed him to be. As a man, he was perfectly imperfect but he owned his flaws and mistakes with no apologies given. He had a big heart that he wore on his sleeve. He'd give a stranger the shirt off his back if they asked it of him. The world is a little dimmer without him and though his family isn't ready to say goodbye they are so very happy that he's finally at peace.

Visitation will be held at Cravens-Shires on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  There will be no service, as Jerry's children have decided to have him cremated.
