Jean Eloise Hoops

Jean Eloise Hoops, 63, of Ridgeway, VA. formerly of Bluefield, WV, died suddenly Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home. Jean was born on October 11, 1955 in Bluefield, WV. She was the daughter of the late Wiley C. Ratcliff and Lorraine Hamilton and the adoptive daughter of the late James and Evelyn King.

Jean was a homemaker, who loved her family and spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved pictures of her babies, listening to old country music, having her nails done, her morning coffee, and her daily phone calls with her kids.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Roger Clark Sr., brothers Junior King, Leon King, Robert King, and sisters Estelle Green, Frances Plaster, Linda Bailey and Edith Ruis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roger Clark Jr. of Bluefield, WV, daughters Latrina and husband John Barrett of Bluefield, WV, Corena and husband Jose Mendoza of Mt. Airy, NC, Brandy and husband Richard Goins of Bluefield, WV, and Lakisha and husband Michael Hayes Jr. of Bluefield, WV.

Grandchildren, Lori Clark, Kimberly Clark, Roger Clark III, Katlyn Clark, Crystal Remines, Lisa Barrett, Rachel Barrett, Kayla Vickland, Jose Mendoza, Miguel Mendoza, Adrian Mendoza, Carlos Mendoza, Lucio Mendoza, Cruz Mendoza, Amanda Goins, Troy Goins, Ashley Goins, Amber Clark, Zackary Brewster, Asiah Brewster, Haley Brewster, Alyssa Hayes and Richard Hayes. Great-grandchildren, Justin Remines Jr., Austin Clark, Kaleb Clark, Penelope Parrish, Joshua Mitchem and Carly Clark.

Brothers, Calvin Ratcliff, Kenny Scarberry, David Scarberry, Johnny Ratcliff, and sisters Nellie Kidd, Shirley Green, Patty Michaels, Connie Bradley, Barbara Ratcliff, Joann Dillion, Iona Trump, Sophia Catron, Marlena Lewis and Mary Sue Ratcliff. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends including special companion Jerry Proffitt.

Visitation will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV, with the Rev. Jerry Lester and Rev. Gene Hunt officiating on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2pm until 4pm with the service starting at 4pm.
