Janice Simons

Janice Puckett Simons, 84, of Bluefield, WV, died Sunday, November 15, 2020.  She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, where she resided most of her life.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Stella Lee Puckett, her husband of 55 years, Jimmy Simons, a daughter, Diana O’Quinn, and three brothers and three sisters.  She is survived by a son, Joe Simons and wife Debbie of Front Royal, VA, a daughter, Kim Jones and husband Henry of Bluefield, WV, a son-in-law, Thomas E. O’Quinn, of Princeton, WV, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hartwell, of Bluefield, WV.  Janice was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Daniel Jones and Mary Jones, of Bluefield, WV Jennifer McNea, of Front Royal, VA, and Michael Simons of Raleigh, NC, and three great grandchildren, Abby Wilson, Hannah Wilson, and Kaelyn McNea, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Janice retired after 20 years with the City of Bluefield’s Parking Commission. She was a member of the Bluefield, VA Church of God for more than 50 years.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to so many.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Bluefield Virginia Church of God, 104 Highland Avenue, Bluefield, VA with Rev. Tony Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Brandon Akers, David Simons, Ben Hendrick, Joe Simons, Henry Jones, and Tommy O’Quinn.

Friends may call on Friday, prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 at the church.
