James Randall Thompson

James Randall Thompson, 72, of Bluefield, WV, passed Friday, February 2, 2024, at his home.

Born October 28, 1951, in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Clayton S. Thompson and Norma West Thompson Harless. James was a life-long resident of Brushfork and retired from Eimco and Fairchild. He attended Deliverance Temple Church. His favorite pastime was drag racing with friends.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his stepfather, Orville Harless, wife, Robin June Bailey Thompson, and brother, Bruce Thompson.

Those left to cherish James’ memory are his daughter, Nicole Lawson and husband Jeff of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Dee Compton of Kernersville, NC, Brenda Thompson of Lithia, FL; sister-in-law, Sue Pack and husband Glen of Bluefield, WV; granddaughters, Madison and Alyssa Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call an hour prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
