James Sullivan, Jr., 86, of Union Street, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on March 17, 1935 in Bramwell, he was a son of the late Jim Sullivan and Marie Chilco. He was retired from the US Air Force then later Joy Manufacturing. He was an avid Bluefield Beaver football and basketball fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sullivan; a daughter, Teresa Watson; a granddaughter, Rachel Watson; and a brother, Thomas Sullivan.
Survivors include a son, John Sullivan; daughters, Brenda (Mark) Shortridge and Norma “Janie” Sullivan, all of Bluefield, WV; 6 grandchildren, JW Watson, Jennifer Sullivan, Jonathan Sullivan, Betty Jane Sullivan, William Lowe, and Christine Shrewsbury; and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
