James Ralph Spencer

James Ralph Spencer, 77, of Anawalt, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home. Born April 27, 1945 in McDowell County, WV, he was a son of the late Haron and Marie Farmer Spencer. He attended Long Point Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Keene; and siblings, Mickey and Bill Spencer, Reda Nance, and Deanna Davis. Those left to cherish James’ memory are his children, Darren Spencer of Cedar Bluff, VA, Jenny Spencer of Cedar Bluff, VA, Jamie Beavers and husband, Michael of Bluefield, VA, and Shawn Muir of Bainbridge Island, WA; former wife, Jean Spencer; grandchildren, Dylan, Savannah, Kelly, Kevin, Sarah, Caty, and Evie; and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Darren Spencer, Junior Long, Neil Nance, and Michael Beavers will serve as pallbearers and military graveside rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
