James "Pete" Bayne Brooks

James Bayne (Pete) Brooks, Jr., 61, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born on December 11, 1958 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late James B. Brooks, Sr. and Martha Beatrice Neal Brooks. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was self-employed. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the drag strip, and fishing. He loved his family and friends, his dog buddy, and the rest of his fur babies. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeep Neal, a nephew Jeepy Neal, Jr.; a brother in law, Don. sister-in-law, Sharon and husband, Cliff. and father-in-law, Wetzel Paris.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Louise Brooks of the home; daughters, Alexis Cox of the home, Diane (Emmett) Lanter, Gail (David) Parker, Robin (Choukri) Hamm; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Dakota, Zackary, Tyler, Kalina, Ashlyn, Kaden, and Kinsley; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sheila (Tim) Williams, Georgia (Dave) Wall, and Sue Stamper; mother-in-law, June Paris; several nieces and nephews, a special niece, Heather Lusk; a special nephew, Joshua Stamper; his dog “Buddy” and several other fur babies.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with David Parker officiating.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
