James “Jimmy” Brown, Jr., 55 of Athens, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Jimmy was born on March 21, 1963 in Welch, West Virginia to the late James Frank Brown Sr. and Thelma Day Brown.
Jimmy was a graduate of Montcalm High School and was of the Baptist faith. He had been a lifelong resident of Mercer County.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister.
Left to cherish her memory is his wife Ruby Stepp Brown of Athens, West Virginia; three sons Jimmy Farmer of Lashmeet, West Virginia; Garrett Compton of Rock, West Virginia and Ethan Compton of Montcalm, West Virginia. One brother Dempsey Moore and wife Melanie of Moneta, Virginia. Four sisters Laura Walls of Princeton, West Virginia; Rosetta Brown of Spanishburg, West Virginia; Tammy Brown and companion Nelson Pigg of Rock, West Virginia and Mary Hubbard and husband Billy of Bluefield, West Virginia. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, July 01, 2018 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
