James Clifford Gallinger

James Clifford Gallinger, 83, of Bluewell, WV, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family and wife Janet Witt Gallinger of 54 years.

He was a dedicated, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, brother in law, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. Jim worked for Ginato-Pontiac in Welch and A&T Pontiac in Bluefield as a mechanic. He also worked at E.L Machine Co. in Bluewell. He also became a proud Unites States citizen in 1995. He faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Bluewell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Gallinger, mother, Blanch Gow Gallinger, brother, Steven Gallinger and daughter in law, Robin Lee Gallinger.

Left to cherish me his memory include his wife Janet Gallinger, daughter, Lisa Ody, sons, Mark Gallinger, Brian (Brandi) Gallinger, brother, Paul Gallinger; sisters in law, Nita (Ron) Sharrock, Jole (Grover) Thompson, Judy (Ronnie) Louthen, Betty (Gerald) Reed; brothers in law, James (Shirley) Witt, Billy (Ina) Witt. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Alex, Chelsea, Emaleigh, Audrey, Grace, Jesse and step granddaughter, Lexie; a special niece and caregiver, Christina Davidson and many loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jim Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Eddie Louthen, Chad Louthen, Curtis Witt, Hunter Broyles, Robert Witt, Cody Goins and Chad Davidson officiating.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice and their staff that gave special care to James. They were a blessing to our family.
