James Ernest Crigger

May 3, 1945 — December 20, 2023

James Crigger, 78, died at his home December 20, 2023, with his wife of 6 years Mary Crigger, daughters Crystal and Mary Gorsky, son Michael Hanshaw, stepson Bo Church, sister Vickey Ball and his pretty girl Tee was all with James when he went to be with his forever Angel Florence Hanshaw (Elmo) as James called her.

James passed away from lung cancer. He was the son of Francis Crigger and Nellie Crigger. James loved to fish as much as he could and he drover big trucks since he was 16. He hauled coal, logs with his son Dennis Hanshaw, and produce with his brother Gordon Crigger. If it was fishing or big trucks James was ready to go.

James Crigger was survived by his wife Mary Crigger (Sug) and daughters, Crystal “Little woman” Gorsky and husband Rodney of McDowell, WV, Mary “Hillbilly” Gorsky and husband Shannon of McDowell, WV, Amanda Evans and husband Printiss Evans of Burke Mountain, WV; two daughters by heart, Angie Craighead and Misti Hanshaw he loved so much. Four sons, Michael Hanshaw and girlfriend Charlotte Eldridge of Welch, WV, Dennis Hanshaw and wife Lisa of Coaldale, WV, Jimmy Hanshaw and girlfriend Nina Christian of Welch, WV, and James Ernest Crigger, Jr., of Pulaski, VA; stepsons, Bo and Cheyenne Jr Church; sister Vickey Ball of Peterstown, WV; brother Barry Crigger of Pearisburg, VA; special sister-in-law, Tee, his pretty girl as James would call her; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Lynn Crigger.

James asked for no service and will be cremated and laid to rest with his forever love, Florence Hanshaw.

As James would say, “Braker braker ride on”. Forever in that rig. No speed limit in Heaven.
