Jack Lee Bailey

Jack Lee Bailey, 86, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salem, VA.  Born January 18, 1934, Jack was a son of the late German E. and Elsie Mae Lewis Bailey. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1951-1956 and attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church.  Jack was a retired salesman and the owner of A-1 Welding Supply.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by six sisters, one brother and his special cat Bojangles who he loved dearly. Jack was the last surviving member of his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Rita Conley Bailey of the home; son, Russell Bailey of Bluefield, WV; two daughters, Rhonda Richmond and husband, Fred of Naperville, IL, and Renea Bailey of Glen Allen, VA; two grandchildren, Sarah Richmond of Madison, WI, and Allison Hendrickson and husband, David of Aurora, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Scottie and Ella Hendrickson.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Bailey officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.
