Herman Lewis Farmer

Herman Lewis Farmer passed away at Laken Hospital on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 76.  Born May 23, 1945 in Coaldale, WV, he was the son of the late Dolly Mae Woods Rose.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Farmer; step-father, William Thomas Rose; one brother, James Wesley Farmer, Jr.; one sister, Brenda Sue Goodwin; and two nephews, Dewayne Farmer and Johnny Westmoreland, Jr.

Those left to cherish Herman’s memory are his brother, Johnny Westmoreland and wife, Donna of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Margaret Lewis and fiancé, Sam Wright of Bluefield, VA, Glenna Gale Lambert of WV, and Kathy Shrader and friend, Bobby Aust of Bluefield, WV; 11 nieces and nephews; and special niece, Becky Garrison. He loved to sing, especially Elvis and Hank Williams Sr. songs. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, January 11, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Farmer family.
