Helen Marie Fields, 86, of Lakeland Drive Bluefield, West Virginia formerly of Montcalm, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
Helen was born on June 20, 1932 in Montcalm, West Virginia to the late Earl Snodgrass and Lucille M. White. Helen attended Fairview Christian Church; she had been a resident of Mercer County for the past 84 years and was retired from the Mercer County Board of Education as a Teacher’s Aide with 30 years’ service.
Helen loved her family and most importantly she loved Jesus.
In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her step father Stewart G. White; son in law, Homer Wilson, daughter in law, Kandi Fields and brother in law, Walter Shewbridge.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 68 years and the love of her life, Vernon S. Fields of the home; two daughters Donna Wilson of Glenwood, West Virginia and Vickie Akers and husband Willard of Glenwood, West Virginia and son Craig Fields and wife Beth of Glenwood, West Virginia. One sister, Lillian Shewbridge of South Charleston, West Virginia. Four grandsons, Jason Perdue and wife Kayla, Eric Akers, Jeremy Perdue and wife Tonya and Brad Fields and wife Kristen. Two great grandchildren Kaitlynn Davis and Atley Perdue.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 02, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Akers, Brad Fields, Michael Grubb, Darrell Martin, Billy Fields and Kaiden Edwards. Those wishing to attend the Graveside service are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home by 2:30pm.
