Hazel Ruth French

Hazel Ruth French, 79, of Welch, WV passed away Friday April 28^th, 2023 at her home.

Born June 16, 1943 in Welch she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Mary Lane Milam. She was a member of the Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church and was a former past president of the Keystone Northfork Womans Club and Past President of the GFWC Southern District. She formerly worked for Cactus Jack Nursery in San Diego, CA, Mercer Optical; Bluefield Eye Clinic, Council on Aging, sold Avon and Home Interiors, decorated cakes for 35 years, and enjoyed doing crafts. She joined Beta Sigma Phi  in 1984 and was a lifetime member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Randolph French, Sr. and sisters Mary and Thelma.

Survivors include a son, Ted Randolph “Randy” French, Jr. and Trixie of Belcher Mountain, and Barbara Muzzleman and Allen of Princeton; grandchildren, Jeremy and Aaron; great grandchildren, Bryson Ray and Braylee Navaeh; step-grandchildren, Preston, Peyton and Paige; and a brother, Rufus Milam of Jacksonville, NC.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church on Belcher Mountain in Welch with Rev. Roger Walker officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
