Grant Tony Thompson, Sr., age 73, of Bluefield, WV died on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on November 20, 1950, in Big Jenny Hollow near Welch, WV, he was a son of the late Greenville and Wanda Williams Thompson. He was a retired teacher, coal miner, and electrician. He was a member of the Welch Church of God. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a proud member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deonne Thompson; a brother, Tommy Thompson; and a sister, Marjorie.

Sister: Debbie Lykins of Lucasville, Ohio
Grandsons: Aaron and Joshua
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Tim Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
