Grace Opal Martin, 96, of Premier, West Virginia passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Welch Community Hospital in Welch, West Virginia.
Grace was born on January 13, 1923 in Mohegan, West Virginia to the late Fredrick Arthur Burbett and Birdie Dixon Burbett. Grace had been a resident of Premier and Welch for the majority of her life. Grace was of the Baptist faith. Grace was the last surviving member of her family. Grace was a lover of horseback riding in her younger years, she also was a talented musician, who played the guitar, harmonica and was a yodeler.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years Jesse Willard Martin. One son, Jesse James Martin; daughter, Judith Ann Stout; Sisters, Lilian McBrayer, Ruth Roark, Mable Mitchem; One brother Louis Howard Burbett; two son-in-law’s, Robert Shandor and Leslie Stout as well as several nieces and nephews.
Grace is survived by her three daughters; Mary Shandor of Bramwell, West Virginia and companion Roger Lundvedt of Iowa; Diana “Susie” Hopkins and husband Wendle of Bluefield, West Virginia and Rhonda Martin of Princeton, West Virginia. three sons, Larry Martin of Premier, West Virginia, Stephen Martin of Pipestem, West Virginia and Charles Martin and wife Diane of Premier, West Virginia who were her caregivers. Step-daughter Jeannie Sue Martin of Sevierville, Tennessee. Grace is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert “Bob” Shandor, Barry Shandor, Joseph Brandon Shandor, Sherry Ciampanella, Zachary Calfee, Leslie Hamilton, Jeffery Stout, Jesse Martin, Christina Martin, Larry Martin Jr., Clayton Martin, Logan Martin, Christina Lester, Veronica Martin, Alyssa Graham, Lyndsey Martin, Deanna Meadows, Nikki Meadows as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluefield, West Virginia. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those wishing to attend the Graveside service are asked to meet at the Woodlawn Mausoleum by 12:00 pm (Noon) on Monday, December 23, 2019.
