Glenna Mae Martin

Glenna Mae Vest Martin, of Old Bramwell Road, Bluefield, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 82.

She was born in Lomax, WV, on May 17, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Charles William and Gladys Elizabeth VanDyke Vest. Mrs. Martin was a co-owner of Martin’s Furniture in Bluewell and had resided in Brushfork for 55 years. She was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star. Over the years, she has belonged to the Bluefield Chapter, Montcalm Chapter, and currently is a member of the Bramwell Chapter. She was a member of the Brushfork United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bethany Laura Vest Rowe and Dawana Vest martin.

The role she will forever be treasured for is being the loving wife of 63 years to her husband “Jim” and the best mother and exceptional friend to her four children.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 11:00AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The Bramwell Order of Eastern Star #158 will conduct honors at 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you honor Glenna through a donation to Hospice Compassus and Pallative Care, or to the church or charity of your choice.
