Gerald Keith Burchett, 71, of Montcalm, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the home of his daughter, Amy Akers.
Born on September 23, 1948 in Montcalm, he was a son of the late Garland and Maxine Warden Burchett. He had been a lifelong resident of Montcalm and was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served in Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Combs Burchett; and a sister, Delores.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ann Hurst Burchett of the home; son, Richard Nicholson and companion Tonya; daughters, Robin Horton and companion Greg O’Quinn, Amy (Bennie) Akers, Martha (Franko) Higdon, Rev. Melissa (David) White, Beth (Derick) Flack, Carey (Mike) Pendry; a brother, Maynard (Patty) and a sister, Christine (Elwood); 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Melissa White officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may call prior to services, from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday.
