Gaylon Dale Akers

Gaylon Dale Akers, 55, of Stoney Ridge Road; Bluefield, West Virginia went to sleep and woke in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his residence.

Gaylon was born on October 05, 1964 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late James Akers and Norma Booher Akers. Gaylon, had been a resident of Mercer County for the past twelve years and was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Princeton, West Virginia. Gaylon, held a bachelor’s degree. Gaylon will be sadly missed by his family; he was one to always have God and family in all he did.

Gaylon is survived by his wife Gurnie Combs Akers of the home; one son, Danny Maier of Charleston, West Virginia; two daughters, Brittany Cecil of Hurricane, West Virginia and Skyler Johnson of Jumping Branch, West Virginia; two brothers, Melvin Akers of Itmann, West Virginia and David Akers of Montcalm, West Virginia. Gaylon is also survived by four grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm at New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Princeton, West Virginia with Minister Ron Reeves officiating.

The Akers family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday at the church one hour preceding the memorial service.
