Garnett Marie Workman

Garnett Marie Prevento Workman, 100, of Davy, WV, went to be with Jesus and all those whom she loved on Friday, October 2, 2020 while surrounded by her family.

Born on December 27, 1919 in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Lula (Farley) Mullens. Garnett was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She loved going to church and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Prevento, Sr.; her second husband, Andrew J. Workman,; one son, Joseph Eugene Prevento; four sisters, Pauline York, Zola Church, Lila Wade, and Ruth Rollins; one brother, Milton Mullens, Jr.; one granddaughter, Patti Marie Hartz; two grandsons, Anthony Prevento and Nicholas Akers; and a special son in law Rev. Stephen R. Walker, Sr.

Survivors include her two sons, Darrell Prevento and Wilma of North Welch, WV, Andrew Prevento, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Altoona, PA; two daughters, Regina Walker with whom she made her home and Patricia Nomar of Marmet, WV; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jimmie Russ and Rev. Melissa Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services will be in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. Marks are to worn by all attending.
