Freddy Lee Dunford

Freddy Lee Dunford, 70, of Montcalm, WV, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Florida. Born March 21, 1953 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Clarence and Zora Lusk Dunford. Freddy was a lifelong resident of Montcalm where he lived with his beloved dog, Shadow. Freddy was a hard worker, having worked for Kings Tire, and in the coal mines. He enjoyed installing flooring.

In addition to his parents, Freddy was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Dunford; and two sisters, Betty Riggs and Jeanette Perdue.

Those left to cherish Freddy’s memory are his son, Joey Dunford and wife, Mashonda of Montcalm, WV; daughter, Nora Horton and husband, Craig of Florida; Brother and Best Friend Kenneth “Buster” Dunford and wife Debbie of Springville, VA; brother, Clarence Robert Dunford and wife, Deborah of New Hampshire; sisters, Shirley White of Montcalm, WV, Phyllis Minnix of Bluefield, WV, Loretta Mitchem of Bluefield, WV, and Aileen Kendrick of Bluefield, WV, Tina Davis and husband Michael of Chapmanville, WV, Lorraine Johnson and husband Thomas of Bluefield, WV; and six grandchildren, Travis, Katelyn, Katherine, Taylor, Michael, and Alexandria.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. N. R. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Dunford family.
