Fred Martin Mey, Jr.

Fred Martin Mey, Jr., 91, of Dogwood Crossing, Tazewell, VA passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Tazewell Community Hospital. Born August 28, 1930 in Winton-Salem, NC, he was a son of the late Fred Martin and Edith Crews Mey. Fred was a member of the Ceres Baptist Church in Green Valley and was employed by ExxonMobil. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Durham, and two sisters, Anne Bell and Jean Mey.

Those left to cherish Fred’s memory are his loving wife of 72 years, Juanita Dotson Mey of Dogwood Crossing; son, Christopher Mey of SC; sisters, Martina Dotson and Susan Chaffee and husband, Michael of SC; niece, Elaine Tiller and husband, David of Bluefield, WV; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Trent Mey; and special friends, Robert and Roxanna Lester of Bluefield, WV.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Mooney officiating.
