Franklin Calvin Wright

September 16, 1944 — May 13, 2024

Franklin Calvin Wright (Frank), 79, of Lashmeet, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024. Frank was born September 16, 1944 in Big Sandy, WV to Willard Wright and Edna Mae Slavey.

Frank spent his career working as a roofing contractor. He traveled from state to state and spent a lot of time in the northern Virginia area. He returned home to West Virginia 16 years ago where the remainder of his life was spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Edna, one brother Jess Wright, five sisters Gracie Wright, Margie Wright Franklin, Dorothy Wright Roberts, Eunice Wright Sexton, Clair Wright Hurley.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Leon (Barbie) Horton of Sheperdsville, KY, His two granddaughters Olivia (Bradley) Campbell of Sheperdsville, KY, and Renee (Ed) Horner of Huston, TX. His five great-grandchildren Abbie, Amelia, Brantley, Penelope, and Grayson. His three brothers Walter (Debbie) Wright of Bluefield, WV, Herman (Marge) Wright of Bluefield, WV, and Don Wright (Mary) of Lashmeet, WV. His sister Susie Wright Nenninger of Rosebub, AK and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A special thanks to his brother Don who was his caregiver. Frank’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
