Frank Thomas Sexton, 94, of Freeman (Bramwell), West Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Veterans Care Center in Salem, Virginia. Born February 23, 1924 in Bluefield, West Virginia, Frank was the son of the late Mason and Bertha Harman Sexton. He had been a resident of Freeman/Bramwell for forty-five years and was of the Baptist faith. Frank served his country in the United States Navy and was retired from Civil Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Hicks Sexton, and one brother, Reginald Sexton.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Kevin Sexton of Roanoke, Virginia; daughter, Deborah Kay Ortiz of Liburn, Georgia; two brothers, W.C. “Ray” Sexton of North Tazewell, Virginia, and R.H. “Harman” Sexton and wife, Lois, of Bramwell, West Virginia; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
