Frank Estel Otey, Jr., 83, of New Hope Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on October 3, 1937 in Crumpler, he was a son of the late Frank Otey, Sr. and Minnie Bailey Otey. He had been a resident of New Hope Road for 9 years and was formerly of McDowell County. He was a member of the Crumpler United Methodist Church. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Anderson and a step granddaughter, Michelle Cerny.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce. K. Lambert Otey of the home; 3 sons, Keith (Marie) Otey of Princeton, Kevin (Karen) Otey of Greensboro, NC, and Matthew (Mary) Otey of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) and Zachary (Alex) Otey; step granddaughter, Stacy Dillon; step great granddaughter, Brooke Fogleman and a step great-great granddaughter, Brynnleigh Fogleman; brother, Thomas (Gaye) Otey of Statesville, NC and Mary Jane (Harry) Fizer of Woodbridge, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Mark Smearman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Kevin Otey, Matthew Otey, Christopher Otey, Zachary Otey, Ed Hylton and Steven Scott will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
