Felix Edwards Burks, Jr.

Felix Edwards Burks, Jr.” Junior” 33 of Mooresville, NC. passed unexpectedly at his home on March 17. 2024. He was born on February 19, 1991, in Salisbury, NC.

He was the son of Felix Burks, Sr. of Princeton, WV. and Wilma Gilbert of Mooresville, NC.

He was the grandson of Cecil and Betty Burks of Northfork, WV. and Dorothy Gilbert and the late Roger “Gene” Gilbert of Majestic, KY.

He is survived by the love of his life, his daughter Raven Nicole Burks of Mooresville, NC. and his Fiancé Brittany Oconnor of Stow, OH.

Felix also leaves behind his Stepdad Elmer “Red” Sides, Stepmom Rebecca Burks, his stepbrothers Bradley and Zachary Walker and stepsisters Brooklyn Starnes and Brittany Walker and his best friend and “brother” Danny Cotter of PA.

He also leaves behind a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends from North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Felix enjoyed a career in the field of Internet Technology and from a very young age always took apart his toys to see what “made them work”. He loved his fast cars and his guitars. He could play like a whiz but was shy about playing in front of many people.

Felix was a very selective but loving man, and when he let you in, he held you in his heart forever. He was quick witted with a wry sense of humor, but when you got him, you really got him, and you were in for a ton of laughs.

He was always quick with a hug and ended every conversation with an I love you”.  He will always be cherished forever in the hearts of many.

A celebration of life will be conducted on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Cravens Shires Funeral Home 3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV, with visitation from 12:00p-1:00p and services from 1:00p – 2:00p with Rev. Omar Burns officiating.
