Everett Roy Bishop, surrounded by his family, passed peacefully on Friday April 18th; he was 87.
Born on February 19th, 1938 in Welch West Virginia, Everett began his work life at Welch hardware store and following several years at Sears Roebuck, he started and operated his own electrical contracting company known as Besco.
He served on the development committee of Mountain View Church of God and served on their school board. He enjoyed reading and researching the bible and was known as an exceptional teacher in the church’s Sunday school. His love for helping others in their time of need brought him joy. "For as you do unto others, you have done unto me" Matthew 25:40, describes his life's journey.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Blackburn Bishop, sister Mary Jane Bishop, daughter Pamela Cooper, (Herb), son Norman, granddaughters Jacque Moore (Mark) and Addison Cooper, grandson Everett and great grandchildren, Joey, Ava and Hudson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell with Pastor Randall Dority officiating.
Friends may call prior to services on Tuesday, from 11:00-12:00 at the funeral home.
